I choose the film named 'Godfather'. It was directed by Fransic Coppola and based on a novel written by Mario Puzo. In this film played a famous actors like Al Pacino, James Caan and Marlon Brando who died in 2004.
The story begins in the 40's at the wedding of a daughter of a mafia boss - Vito Corleone. During the ceremony, Vito's youngest son returns home from the War World II. He knows exactly about his father's links, but he promised never to take part in his affairs. Hovever, some of the competitive family makes an attack on Vito Corleone, because he doesn't want to agree for the distribution of drugs in his area. Head of a competitive family wants afterwards to lead a meeting with one of the sons of Vito, to reach an agreement. One of the sons, Sonny plans a murder as a revenge. To avoid any suspicion Michael declares that he will do it. To revenge his father he must enter the criminal world which he always wanted to avoid.
This is not a typical gangsters tale, but the tradition of mafia history. Personally, I think that this is the most outstanding film about mafia ever was and I have ever seen. Also I recommend it for everyone.
